And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don’t they understand? asked God
That you’ll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is….forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am….forever and ever and ever.
I had been without a kitty for 9 months when a trip to the ARL was in order. A female kitten was the goal and there were some perfect ones there but I had to see all they had. A light gray striped male kitten was brought out; he cried and cried and climbed up to my neck as I held him. The attendant apologized and said she was sorry, that his cage mate had been adopted and he was very needy. The convincing was final when I was told that he was a Hemingway cat with extra digits on his feet. That was that; home with me he went. He cried the whole way and almost convinced me to take him back. The crying stopped the minute he was put down on the floor. From then on Amos owned me and our little home. He was allowed 11 wonderful, happy, secure years with me.
After 21 years in this life, my dear, sweet, Chaz Man has left to explore places unknown.
Tabitha. She was a wild stray that strayed right into our hearts.
